My old F-Superduty which is the 2wd 450s carries 8000lbs and its almost legal. The problem is you will not beable to get a body large enough to hold 4 tons of mulch.

Most crewcab F-450s only are able to run a 9' box.

I have a 2005 f-450 (2005 has new suspension then old ones) with a 11x8 stake side bed and it will hold 8yards nicely 10 heaping. I have no problem with it. Normally it is hauling the 3 ton enclosed trailer at the same time. Just take your time around corners.

You can haul it assuming the rubber band drive transmission does not snap along the way. Cab, frame and suspension on that truck are very strong. Tranny is the weakest link because they took a tranny from a Ranger, beefed it up and added it to the F series.
