    Hello all,

I was wondering how common or uncommon it is to use pea stone in place of mulch. I am debating using pea stone to replace the mulch in the front of my house. Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

Pea gravel tends to migrate. It usually ends up where it's not supposed to be. If your going to use any type of rock use 1" plus.

Any recommendations as far as stone? The area is pretty large, theres a brick walkway up the middle and I just planted some boxwoods and dwarf alberta spruce trees. I though the pea gravel would look good or should I just go with mulch?

    Thanks!

Without seeing what the area looks like, I can't recommend which type of material to use for your situation. I lean more towards the mulch because it's a lot healthier for your soil and your plantings. Just my opinion!
