I'm tossing around the idea of picking up an ex-rental GM or Isuzu diesel cabover and putting an open landscape bed on it. All the trucks I'm looking at are 2008 or newer w4500 or NPR HD (14,500 GVWR) most have a box with liftgate or stake body (which I will sell after my body builder removes it) the lowest mile truck has 86,000 miles on it, the rest are all 100,000+. I know these trucks will last if taken care of, but that's just it. I don't know how good these companies are about PM on their trucks. Anybody have any insight?

They generally do all sehuled oil changes. The only problem is they have hundreds of thousands of vehicles and sometimes the PMS get skipped or the Pm employee got lazy, but for the most part they are serviced.

I would have no problem whatsoever buying one, not to mention for less than 10k you can get a real nice truck.

These trucks are a little more than $10k, I'm looking to spend between $20-$25,000. I still feel it's a good deal though for a late model cabover considering they are $45,000 new.

I will most likely have to travel or have mine shipped as well, I'd prefer to stay with a southern or west coast truck as I don't want a rust bucket
