Just curious if any of you regularly travel overnite for a project and what kind of per diem rates your using and how you are working your travel time. Thanks.

I used to travel with the company I worked for before starting my business. They paid all travel time for everybody, hotel and $25.00 a day for meals. I eat a lot, so I negotiated a better rate for my meals, but the norm was $25.00 a day.

We pay hotel bills, travel time one way,(unless the employee is driving a company vehicle, then all travel time is paid) and $25.00 a day per diem. The per diem is not intended to pay for all the meals it is more or less a cost of living adjustment. Because it costs more to eat out than eat at home. averaging 25 dollars more a day. But we usually buy dinner for everyone while we are out but do not promise it.
