(I have made the plunge also and bought my first one. Have not got it yet as I just did the transaction on Thurs at Lesco and they didn't have the carrier in stock and had to order it in)

It's my understanding that all the hopper settings will be the same as the hopper on my push units. They are Lesco units as well as the hopper on the Ultra Ride-On. Now the liquid part of the unit WILL take some getting use to! Don't know if that helps you or not...

Did you purchase the new green "Ultra" or the older Black spreader style?
The Ultra's manual is pretty self explanatory... What info are you looking for?

I've never used that fert. so I'm not sure on a setting.

No matter what spreader you buy, you will still have to get the proper application amount from the product you are trying to spread and then calibrate your machine. Using someone else's setting is no guarentee that you are applying at the correct rate. This can only cost you money, in the form of re-aps, excessive chemical costs, lost customers, and in most areas it is illegal.

Always calibrate your unit. I have a perma-green unit and each round for me is different, so the size of the particles changes. Even with the manual recommendations your spreader may be faster or slower than the ones they tested. I have never used merit with that high of nitrogen so I can't help you much. Happy riding!

Thank you for your replies. I am just trying to get some initial settings so i can go from there.I just received my machine Friday and have so busy i havnt has the time yet to play with it.
  7. Before you do anything, you should go through the loops on setting up your spreader.

It is not shipped set up, an explanation is in the manual of how to do.

I have heard to many say they don't like the machine, but you have to set it up first, it is not ready out of the box. I bet most that say they didn'y like it, didn't read the manual or take the time to set the machine up.
