I'm trying to find the best approach to change out the motor on my ultra. Doesn't seem like a whole lot of options out there. What have you guys done or heard of?

Do you have the original Briggs engine? If so you are going to need to get the kit from Permagreen. Or figure out your own system to run your pump and the spinner.

That would definitely work if you find a compatible engine. But the problem is nobody at Briggs will tell you yes or no with 100% since they dont really do this type of thing. So you are basically going to have to buy an engine and try...if you pick wrong you are going to get stuck with it since you probably will have to open it up and try to find out.

Not being familiar with the setup did BS modify the mounting to make it unique? If so and a replacement truly is unavailable is it beyond a rebuild?

The current engine has a crack in the block and missing a few magnets on the flywheel/magneto whatever you call that thing. Not completely beyond repair but it seems hard to even find parts for that one.
