I have heard many good things about the Stihl br600 so I picked up a few...then I heard that the Redmax 8000 is the mack daddy. So I went today to pick one up. Before I had purchased either of these we were using Shindaiwa EB630's which I was pleased with.

What would be a great test to put on camera to put the blower wars to rest?:weightlifter:

Where are the leaves when ya need 'em? I say wet sand. I have one particular parking lot we blow and after every rain wet sandy soil seeps from the hillside onto the parking lot. The 8000 performs nicely, but better than the Stihl? I dunno.

    Things to test with (?):

    1. Wet sand/soil.
    2. Bricks. Just sounds like a fun test.
    3. Gravel.
    4. Pine needles. We just cleared out a bed with 4" thick mat of needles.

Have fun testing and share the results!

If you don't mind me asking how much was the BR600? how about the redmax 8000? I am looking to invest in one for fall clean-up. Thanks

check out the shindaiwa eb8510. more power than the 600 stihl and in florida i got mine for $459.00
Dealer put a mower battery on the ground and the 8510 pushed it as fast as you walked behind it... and the stihl 600 barely moved it.
    I was sold right there.

I called my dealer today and he has one for $480. I will probably just stick with a handheld for the time being.
