Pick up Truck side rails??

    I have a ford f 150 and want to build those wooden rails on the sides of the bed. how do you build them and can somone post some pics of ideas. thanks im new.

    I dont have a picture but I got wooden sides on my 2000 F150. Just notched out a 2x4 to fit in the pockets on top of the bed. Bolted two 2 2x6's across near the rear window and 3 2x6's running the length of the bed. Have about two to three inches of space between the side rails so I can tie things off. Used treated lumber and they look nice. I do alot of junk hauling for the real estate companies I work for. Cant imagine working with out them.

    Sounds good however i bought the truck used with an over the rail duraliner which appears real new. i guess im scr-wed unless you know of a way to get around that. thanks for the info? any ideas. Evan

    Carefully cut the bedliner where the stake pocket holes are.
