Well, after reading this post, either you left details out or by what we can read these customers are a pita.

Just saw your last post...good for you. Don't let anyone take advantage of you.

    Cheers

Tell them to leave you a key, give you the combo, or sh*t up a rope.

Yeah, ditch them. I'm all about getting new accounts but if I got to jump thru hoops to cut a lawn every week, screw it.

    PITA Customer??

Who made the deal with the customer?
Did you quote a price to the customer?
Did you see the yard before the qoute?
If you did see the yard, you knew what equipment you would have to use and hopefully priced accordingly.
Did you know about the bagging request before you gave them the price?

I don't mow, but I quote on every job, and I look at every job that I quote on. Everything is in writing and on paper before the job starts. Any changes to the original request gets a new change order and additional pricing.

I don't understand what the PITA part is (other than the locked gate) and from the sounds of it, you knew about that beforehand also.

Did you just under price the job, or did you not allow for the additional work?

I'm in total agreement with fireguy! Business must be good to pick and choose a customer!

    Key words (I don't Mow)
    Sensitive fence- PITA
    small gate- PITA
    bag grass- PITA
    lock with no key-PITA
    dogs- PITA
The only PITA that he didn't mention was TG

Hey it's easy to get in above your head or get excited about a new job when your business is growing. Best case you would have realized this problem before the quote and just quoted yourself out. " Mam our min. quote for 36" gates is $45 and we require unlimited entry." etc. I would send a bill with the quoted price and come up with a nice excuse why you cannot continue service. Expense your extra time to experience and learn from it. It won't be the last.

My best learning exp. cost me a $100. But gave me a long story. Suffice it to say never agree to help a do it yourself wife install a sprinkler from free plans from Rain bird and she is gonna help. OH MY! And when she fires you on the second day after taking all her advise from the "Guy" at Menards, make sure to count your cash. This is the kind of sh1t you get involved in when you are new and have some free time. LOL There is more to the story but I digress.

For some of us it's good enough not to have to put up with three miles worth of
    this never ending BEE ESS!

First it's this, then that, oh but wait now something else, and just as soon as I think it's over there's more,
oh and can you do it like yesterday, for half price, no wait I want you to do it this other way, over the back
and around the corner, upside down NO wait right side up NO never mind I did want it upside down in the
first place well maybe not all right do it right side up. No I changed my mind again do it upside down but hold on,
then again maybe right side up really is better hmmm nah do it upside down, man...

I've about had my fill of it already, it's not the regular day in and day out stuff,
it's the crap that comes from certain folks and then once it starts with these
folks it just never ends, that kind of stuff.

    Wtf!
I guess some of us somehow just fail to appreciate it.

I can kind of see it, in the Yin Yang of it all...
I know a sense of humor helps but dang, can't we just skip this part?
If we skip this we ain't got to do the bit with the ANGER that eventually comes of it?

Ahhhh, I guess I already know the answer.

Well at least I got a good chuckle out of that one :p

How about TRY not to get your TRAILER involved in picking up some thing from a box store.

You just slip out the back, Jack
    Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
    Just get yourself free
    Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
    And get yourself free
