Hello! I'm new at this site and I really need some help.
I have a 22hp poulan pro. The belt (drive belt) I'm guessing, broke and I need to put a new one back on. I cant get the belt on unless I take the pullies off and I can't get the pullies off because the motor turns when I try to loosen the bolt:dizzy:
Can someone tell me how to get the pullies off?

Use an impact gun to take it off. Not sure which exxact mower you have but I don't think you need to take many pullies off to put the belt back on.

    Okay,thanks:)
It has two pullies ( I think) then the shaft. Then a pully I need to put the belt on.
But how do I use the impact gun if the motor turns when I try taking the nut off with just a wrench? I need to find out how to stop the motor from turning while I take the nut off.

A little more info than 22 HP Puolan would be helpful.
    Is this a hydro?

The owners manual should have instructions on changing the belt.
IF you don't have one, look at this link ans see if it's similar.
    Instructions are on page 23-25.

an impact will not spin the motor it will hammer away at the bolt to get it out of the crankshaft in the motor
