Where I work, we are are one of the few in the area that we mostly use poly and blazzing saddles.

I'm curious to know if any companies out there use poly and blazzing saddles for their installs

A lot of companies here are starting to go that route. We only service and repair, no installs.

I keep thinking someone will make a clumsy repair of a break in a system with those saddles, and have a small stone lodge itself against a saddle, and screw up the flow.

I've seen stones get lodged in an insert fitting. More likely with a saddle, but still.

We use poly and saddles here. Usually Dawn saddles, can't really get a source for Blazing Saddles any more, they seem to have lost favour. We did use the QuickTap from Dawn as well, but I have seen to many issues with them catching debris and plugging for my liking.

Where are you located? We don't use poly on installs and don't use saddles. On occasion may use a saddle on a renovation.

When I need them I get them on-line at sprinklerwarehouse.com The local distributor doesn't even sell pvc nor poly saddles. Though occasionally I see them around here on poly installs.

Actually I'm not sure if locals are using Blazing, Dawn, or another brand. I know some are using the newer saddles, just not sure which ones. I was taught using the old school Dawn "true" saddles that had the two plastic nuts and bolts. and you had to remember to cut the hole out of the center, otherwise you'd have a handful of heads that didn't spray any water.

they changed over not long after that. The bolts would break, lost time going back to dig up ad cut the holes out, and they would turn over time and leak. the newer self piercing are ok. But not great IMO.

Being pvc guys, we hardly ever use saddles, but I had a planting bed that was super curvey & had to use poly. I found some brass saddles at a ag supply house that had cork gaskets & stainless nuts and bolts; they are still in service twenty years later.
