Pond visitor

    Check these pics out I took them this evening. I saw this guy yesterday but he got spooked. so I was outside earlier and saw him fly in. so I grabbed the camera and watched him for about 1/2 an hour. I watched him grab one of my minnows. Way to cool.

    It's a Heron... Specifically a Night Heron... Nice pics btw.

    Looks like a Kingfisher..but NOT..try to have you an ID by tommorrow.Really good pics!

    A one year old Black Crowned Night Heron
    Very good Lawnscenes..
    No not Green that I can tell in my Sibley's..

    I searched green heron on the net and the first pic that came up looks the same.

    I think the actual name depends on where you look and who took the photos. I found it listed as a Night Heron in an Audubon book... But I'm finding pics on line listing it as a night heron and green heron. Same photos, different sites. lol. But it's definitely a heron. lol.

    Sibleys shows all stages of life and plumage and I ID it as a Black Crowned Night Heron-in it's first year
    Wanna fight about it?
