I have a customer that would like lights in beds that are close to his pool, does anyone know the distance I need to keep from the pool water and/or concrete walk area around it?

    Thanks,

    Mike

If installed on a GFCI circuit, no less than 5'. If not on a GFCI, no less than 10'.

By the way, different inspectors will interpret the code to mean different things. This is the interpretation of the NEC by the Principal Engineers at Underwriters Laboratories. If you wish, you can contact them at 1-408-754-6652 or email Steven.D.Holmes@us.ul.com

Make sure you are utilizing a pool and spa rated transformer and all units powering lights within 10ft of a body of water have to be on a GFI.
