Within the past few days I am starting to get these pop-ups while I am viewing a tread. Didn't get that with your old software?? It is really bad...about one every minute.

There are no pop ups here at lawnsite. Please run spyware software on your computer.

If you're running Windows XP, download service pack 2. (critical update)

It contains a pop up blocker that works well.

You also need a spyware program called Spybot.
It is a free download at www.download.com

Chances are you have a trojan virus of some sort. We had it and probably still do.... We have Norton, and it would say we had it, but couldn't find it to get rid of it. Even at that, you still need a good anti-virus program like Norton or McAfee.

We fought it for several weeks, and eventually loaded the SP2. Pop-ups have virtually been eliminated by it, even using Netscape. The SP2 has a pop-up blocker built into IE...

Download both Ad-aware and Spybot S&D. Both are free. Download, then update them before running.

As for SP2 having bugs in it, I don't think that's the case. While I'm NO computer expert, our problems with the SP2 came from out-of-date drivers. I would guess that 95% or more of the problems people are having with SP2 is related to drivers being out of date.

Our computer monitor would go black in the middle of whatever we were doing, then it would start beeping... Figured out it was a driver, but still don't know which one...

    HTH.

Are the pop-ups little grey boxes? If so, that is your Windows Messenger. If that is the case, I can tell you how to disable it safely.
