possible three way damage

    how severe is damage to the turf if three way or 2-4d is applied a bit over the recommened rate. has anyone seen this before.

    No damage---UNTIL---you hit about 3 times the recommended rate. Hot is worse, fine fescue and bent are more sensitive. Unless it is a southern grass--the southern guys can explain the ramifications.

    Depends on what you mean by a "bit". 1/4 ounce /k over recommendation,no problem. 3/4-1 oz over, depending on temps, could be a problem.

    I have seen it. I used to work for another co. one of the other applicators mixed a 2 gal spot spray can a little too hot, and it was in July. Where ever he had sprayed, you could see the grass was stunted, and a little off color, dry looking.
    This was on Bluegrass.

    May cause "tip burn" similar to dull blade look.

    thanx fellas its been real cool here hasnt hit 70 when i was spyaing and i think i might have been .75 oz or close per 1,000 to high trying to get used to my new pressure guage.
