    Well i like the bermuda alot but i don't like that it doesn't STRIPE!!!!!! i want to stripe the heck out of my yard. I am re-sodding next week and still battling what to go with. Lets see some more bermuda guys and gals.

    I think Dave is going to tell you he prefers bermuda, he will chime in soon. I know Dave outside forum and he has told me several times before that if he had it to do all over again it would be bermuda.

    I like the Bermuda better since I'm used to it and liked cutting it real short, 1/2".
    I hated the seed heads and also its excessive growth, dollar spot etc.
    I am posting pictures of my Emerald that is recovering from grubs/fungus, it should be fully recovered by years end.
    I think Zoysia is the way to go but use a different type, like Myers or one of the other type's. Some have wide blades and other have fine blades like the Emerald. The Zoysia's do grow very slowly so recovery from whatever will take longer! What ever Bermuda you buy make sure it's "Certified" Greg Norman turf Bermuda is good, Tiftsport is good and you can buy it 10 years from now and you will get the same turf because its genetically made.
    If your buy bermuda that isn't certified, you can get anything and they will say its 419. The same is true now for the Emerald Zoysia, just can't win for loosing. Good luck
    Do a good prep work before you sod, put in irrigation to if you can!

    It stipes, just watch the Brave's tonight, the TED has 419 and is cut at 3/4".
    A few years ago they had TiftsSport but went back with 419. If you go to Tiftsport web site you will see what it looks like, The Georgia's Governor's Mansion is sodded with Tiftsport sod.

    dave... could you possiby email or post your secret to getting that lawn to look like that. i have a bermuda 419 lawn and its in pretty good shape but would like to know your fertilizer type to your irrigation schedule.. my email is tellyabettis@msn.com. whats the secret of the river sand. just email me your tactics. thanks
