    Thanks for the info. The main reason I'm in need of topdressing is for leveling purposes. My yard has always been a little bumpy. Not to mention the fact I've got that famous Oklahoma red dirt (shale) that's hard as a rock..... I seriously wonder sometimes how anything grows in it.

    Topdressing will definitely give you a smooth lawn. It's hard labor but it's worth it when your lawn mower isn't bouncing all over the place and not scalping the lawn.

    Its weird seeing green grass now in other parts of the country, we get so used to the seasons here that we think all places have seasons just like the USA.
