I use a Shindaiwa power broom with the rubber paddle for sand and sticks in small areas during spring cleanup. And a MB power brush for larger areas. The MB works good for removing thatch and dead grass any time of the year. Best in spring time before the grass starts growing good.

What do you have the MB broom mounted on? How else are you using the broom? Are you living in snow country or what?

The MB is a 40" brush that is powered by a 5HP Honda engin. There are other brands on the market, Sweepster, York, JCB. I live in snow country but never use it for snow.

I have used a broom mounted on a Jacobsen mower for cleaning up turf areas that were flooded and lots of twigs and debris that was deposited. I kept the bristles so it would just touch turf.
