How late into the spring do you guys power rake?? I'm in northern Illinios and the grass it just becoming green but we are getting some serious rain which is preventing me from getting my jobs done. Is it ok to power rake when the grass in completely green and not dormant?

I am also in the northwest suburbs of chicago, and we are getting a ton of rain. Around 3" in 24 hours. This is not the first year it has rained in the spring time. We are going to finish clean ups with power raking/de-thatching when the weather lets us. I am not sure why the last poster stated that he would not. Thatch is unhealty for the turf and holds moisture from getting to the root. When the weather lets up, start power raking and get the jobs finished.
