I'm ready to buy a powerbroom, anyone using a shindaiwa, are they well built?
We have 2 shindaiwa power brooms...they are excellent machines.
I'm looking at the Echo ones any imput?
Bristles or rubber?
I use power brooms doing my synthetic greens and before I got a kohler self propel, I used shindaiwas. They held up well. I don't know what you are using them for, but with building greens, I have ran them to death. I would say my biggest complaint is greasing the heads. I used the bristles.
I was thinking spring cleanup of plow damage (dirt out of grass) & getting gravel out of grass.
For that, you will want the rubber paddles. There is absolutely nothing that cleans gravel out of ditches and turf like these do. I use Stihl, but I know the Shindaiwas are good units, too. Just a little tip when using these....turn the head upside down on the shaft, and use these to pull. This cuts the work down by about 5x. It pulls effortlessly, and cleans very well. Also, you only run these at about 1/4 to 1/3 throttle.
