I put a pre-em down about 3 weeks ago at a house and last week they tore up the driveway and had to do some backfill. Is it ok to seed those areas or sod them or will the pre-em be in the dirt that long?

Depends on the chemical used. The product label will tell you how long to wait to seed.

if they tore up the area the pre-m barrier was broken up. wait a couple weeks and rake the area before seeding and you should be ok.

I have seeded days after a good solid application of pre-emergant. The customer hired us to re seed, but forgot to tell us that a friend of mine had done the pre-emergant app the week prior. It came in a little thin, but it came in. Use more seed
