I am taking a close look at a couple different 5x8's currently. I like each of them for various reasons...however one, possibly big, difference is axle ratings and wheel size. The trailer I like the most has a 2,000 lb axle and 13 in. wheels (which would be ok for me I am just going to be loading a Quick and 21" mower). The other ones are more expensive but have a 3,500 lb axle with 15" wheels.

Anyone see any glaring faults with the trailer with the lighter axle, as long as it fits my needs? Anyone use one with a lighter axle - if so how does it work for you? Thanks!

The 2000lb axle will do ok for you but you will have to remember that if/when hauling mulch or fertilizer.....just for hauling the mower you have listed you are ok....what about if you decided to get a bigger mower???? most 48'' Z mowers are 1000lb plus and the trailer weighs 500-600? so you would be at 3/4 capacity with out trimmers and extras... Just keep that in mind
