Wasn't in our area today, and I saw a place along side the road that was selling sod. Being curious, I stopped and asked them their prices.
she said $5.19 a SQ YARD. We don't do much sodding, generally just seeding, what do you think of that price?

That seems outrageous when we pay $1.86 a sq. yard out here.

i pay 1.89 for fescue but they probably where targetting home owners. i assume already cut and sitting on pallets rolled up. i was taught always buy fresh cut sod. those were for someone who wants a couple of pieces

They bought the Sod cheap and are selling it for a profit. When we do a sod job people often ask if they can buy the pieces that are left over.
