New to the business. Wondering if anyone could help me come up with a price per square foot or 1000 sq ft for spreading topsoil (2 inches deep), fertilizing, liming and seeding it. Or is there some other way I should be pricing this? Thanks

I Try to get $50/Yard for topsoil. I pay $12-$13. Go from there and add in your seed etc

I did a fella w/ the same area as the one your doin. Wasn't shure of $ either but he told me someone else wanted 1500 bucs. I thought that was extreme. I did it for $400 and it only took me 4 hrs. I had about $70. into it. Break it down to $82.50 an hour. Not bad for flinging dirt .mowhead

You'd need 6 yards of topsoil, and so if you paid $15 per yard for topsoil that would be $90 your cost. Add in your fertilizer and lime and lets say that you're up at $100.

You could say that your expenses were .10 per square foot and then charge .40 per square foot which would include your labor. Charge more for hauling distances, up and down slopes, etc.
