I think you were close on pricing. I would have charged anywhere between 1400 and 1900 to do the job depending on how good a deal I was willing to cut. I always try to give the homeowner a price set in stone before I began. If there are variables that are likely I allow in the bid for adjustment as necessary for those Items.

Are you licensed to spray Quick Pro?

double cost of plant on mark up
    ...labor...
    $10 per holly
    $20 per crape
$50 per cubic yard on topsoil/compost
    $8 per bale
btw - you didn't write the estimate before you did the work? hope you get paid what you think you should!
(don't base it on an hourly rate, you make more when you don't)

Stephen - you charged twice for the spraying....$10 once and $35 the other time

Why did I have a feeling that flascaper was from up north before he ever mentioned he was from Delaware? Aaaah, because he knew more than anyone else - just by looking at a picture...(even more than the guy who took it)

Some how, he stood out like a burro in herd of cattle

Stephen, one more thing. What size are those crapes (I'm sure you posted it, but it's too late to read through again)? $80 seems a little high?

yeah, I think $80 for a 15 gallon crape is a bit high - imo. have you shopped around on those? (just a thought)

make plans to get your pesticide license...if they catch you, you're screwed.

I think it looks very nice. Profit margins always vary a little bit. The trust you build with a customer and the referrals that follow are worth not making quite as much on a job to get a foot in the door. More work will follow with good honest work. Good job. Oh yeah... The comments - take them all in and listen from dif people here, experience talks and bs walks. Again you did well!!!

good to hear on your license

maybe that's what they go for around charlotte. $100 in raleigh will buy you a 10 ft B & B. 10 gal for $20
