I had a guy call me tonight about doing some landscapping and one of the jobs he wants done is grading some dirt. I have a feeling it's going to be a decent size job, which means bobcat. I've graded dirt one time. My question is should I try to do it myself by renting a bobcat and charging him for it? And if I do what type of price should I work with, or should I sub it. I've never done that before so how would I go about this? I've always heard never turn down work, and I surely don't want to turn this down.

If you don't have the equipment, I'd contract a reputable sub to do it for you, and add 10-20% markup to his price, depending on the market of course. Then, you can do what you need to do afterward or work another job while he is doing the prep work for you. Maximize your time and profit..
