I'm in the process of calculating cost savings using a PGR on my yearly contracts. While I was at it I ran across the product Proxy which is quite a bit cheaper than Primo Maxx. All the info I could find on it says that it's a Type 2 growth reg,,,but that's it. Has anyone actually used Proxy on say Centipede or Bermuda,,compared to Primo? Were the results the same?

I've noticed that some PGR's cause the turf's growth to slow as advertised, but at the cost of the turf's appearance,,,not the case with Primo,it looks much thicker etc.
Thanks for any info you can provide

Beware that Proxy is NOT labled for residential use. I was looking at it myself as it is a lot cheaper than Primo. When I found out that residential is excluded I decided to forget the PGR's. Primo works great but is too expensive. Embark makes the turf look like ****. ED

I tried proxy a few years back and had no results what so ever. It also take so much more product per 1000. The price per gal is cheaper but add it up and for no results it isn't worth it. Primo is great stuff and we use a lot of it. It is well worth the money spent for the time saved in mowing.

Ditto above. I used Primo on bermuda and it worked ok, it was awsome on fescue and zoysia. The zoysia needed mowing only 3 times last summer/fall. :)

How much does a box of two one gallon bottle cost? I am thinking about Primo for my greens.
