    Info.....
    1) Area along sidewalk(easy access) measures 190 ft long.
    2) customer requested 2 rows of hedge offset to come in thick
    3) using 2-3foot hedges.
    4) im gonna use 200 privet
My system to install will be using a rototiller to run along the sidewalk to loosen area and make for easy digging. I figure 3 guys will be able to do this job in half day....see what you guys come up with...method you'd use ....cost etc! I'll give my prices tonight!

I've never put that many in at once, but I would think 3x 1/2 day is aggressive. Even at 5 min per shrub, that's nearly 17 manhours (or 5.5 per man). Obviously, with a straight run lilke that you can get a good system going, plus shrubs are easy to unload and drop right at the planting site.

I'd be a little nervous if I figured my labor at a 1/2 day, but again,
never really done an install like you've described.

I think the rototiller is a good idea.

    good luck!

$5500 using $27 per privet. Based on $9/unit

At that many with three guys I would rent an auger and use that to dig them in. With that system 2 guys running auger one planting I would figure on 8 hours to complete.
