I have a chance to buy a gravely pro 150 50" with a kaw. for around $900. It is 5 years old but hasn't been used for 2 yrs. Has about 250 hrs on it. Comes with a mulching kit. any thoughts? Is this a deal? Has been prepared for storage-ownner thought he would use it but went to riders. MY clients are asking for wb and not to use riders-go figure.

Since you asked, I regret to tell you that the 50" deck is stamped and a notoriously poor design. I own a Pro 150 with 36" 10 gauge/7 guage welded deck and it has been great. I am a homeowner using it in mulch mode exclusively. Most folks on this forum have nothing good to say about the 50" deck. I suspect they are on to somthing. Also, Gravely no longer makes it which is the most telling reason to avoid it. The 36" & 40" decks are tanks.

    Good luck in your decision.
