I have a JD HD75 WB that I use for hills and some smaller yards, and it is a great machine, for the most part, but for the past several months there's a tensioner bar spring that keeps breaking. I have had it for years and never had this problem. It is the spring that is attached to the tension bar on the drive belt that goes to the deck. When it breaks, no more mowing. I have replaced the $8 spring too many times. Everything that is related to this spring has been replaced or fixed over the period of time, from new spindle to bushings on the tension bar, to the drive belt. Gave JD mechanics some time with it and they couldn't come up with anything so I took it to the other JD shop and they did some work on the tension bar for over $100, and half day later, it breaks again. Took it back and they are investigating any other problems. Probably on this site searching for solutions too. I do not want to replace this mower this late in the season, but I have yards that I cannot do with out it. Anyone have any HELPFUL suggestions apart from shooting it or replacing it? Thanks ahead of time for any input.
