Our tax information was just completed and we got our 'bottom line' numbers. Here's how our business finished up for 2006 and how much we grew.

    2006 Gross Revenues: $230,000
    2006 Profit: $85,000

    2005 Gross Revenues: $140,000
    2005 Profit: $45,000

Up 61% year to year in Gross, 53% rise in profit

    2007 Goals
    Gross Revenues: $350,000
    Profit amount: $125,000

Grow gross by 65% (lofty, but possible with our additions)
Gros profit by 68% (again, lofty, but i love making goal really difficult)

    How did everyone else do?

If it's like normal, I'll gross around $140k, my profit will be around $50k.

As in my other posts, I know I'm low on my profit percentage, but I also go overboard on the amount of equipment that I have sitting around for running solo.

I think you need a better Tax guy/accountant. You should not be making that much money, at least not on the books. I am not advocating doing under the table work or cheating on your tax's. Surely there are more tax deductions you can take?

The goal is to keep the money you make not pay it to Uncle Sam. I am curious to see others weigh in on this. Calling Rodfather, Team Green, Jim Lewis, DFW....

    Dixie,

Do you do installs or just mowing? Also, is your pay part of the profit or expense?

My opinion as well, as the reason why I run about a 30% "profit".
