Profit Sharing or Bonus?

    I was reading a post about owner salaries and got to thinking...What about employee bonuses.

    What works for everyone? Profit sharing or giving a bonus? Do you give a mix of each?

    A company I worked for gave the foreman a bonus, it was based on their productivity level. They would be given x ammount of time to complete a job, and if they stayed under that time by a certain percentage they qualified for a bonus. The more productive the crew the bigger the bonus. It was a good deal for the foreman but I was a laborer and received nothing. I still worked as hard as I could so my foreman would get one but I felt a bit spiteful about it.
