:clapping:Welcome to the project John Deere 317 Thread:clapping:

:dancing: I was going to sell it on ebay but changed my mind:dancing:
I had a friend work on it for me and it ran it for a while than the next day..
it wouldnt start it acted like the battire was dead but the battier was brand new :hammerhead:I took the side covers off and look at the wiring and it was bad:cry: so it got to be the wiring or the starter.
Ive had small engines back in high but still all the info i can get would help:waving:
    more pictures soon

Nice mower. Easy on the smileys, could be harmful if used in excess.

Not a bad mower, what motor is in it? Onan? What are you thinking it's worth? I don't get what you mean by what wire where or ???? The wiring on these is pretty easy sompared to newer models. Do you know anything about electrical? Have a test light?

Well got all sides off I guess i got to pull the motor to get the starter off.
My friend that said i went though the tractor completely didn't even change the spark plugs which look old and Rusty. He said he think it might need a rebuild and I'm trying to debate a rebuild or just re-power. which one would you guys do. Back in high school it was briggs and stratton engines that i rebuilt both single and twins. I really would like to save this tractor. I'm going to paint it next which he said he did and the paint is peeling and yes i did pay him but i traded him old equipment.
