Which mowers can be converted to run on propane and how long will a tank last?
Check out the Ferris website. They sell a mower that runs on propane. I have no idea how long a tank would last though.
Why would you want to do it? Propane is more expensive to run per hour than gasoline. the only reason for it is for the "green" freaks. Propane run engines were originally designed for inside application for the cleaner exhaust. Hence, you have propane powered floor scrubbers, forklifts, etc..
Propane powered engines were designed for use where liquid fuel leaks could also be a problem. Think emergency generators that have to run during a hurricane. Natural gas engines in stationary use are far better to use than any gasoline powered ones . Also pollute less when natural gas replaces Diesel fuel in Diesel engines.
