ive got a 5hp horizontal briggs engine, has the pulsa jet carb on top of the fuel tank.
the "intake" part of the carb where it bolts to the engine broke at the bolt holes
and I have tried using JB Weld to fix it but its not working so well.

    ___

I was wondering if a carb from a 6hp Push mower would work on this engine?

    No,

The pulsa jet carb has a staggered mounting flange (one screw hole higher than the other) the vertical 6 hp has a even mount flange (both screw holes straight across).....

You're right on the money again, i gave it a go last night.. and needless to say, it was a no go,
The jb weld i used on the original carb worked but it set up uneven so now ive gotta stick it under a grinder and try to even the surface out so it'll set up flush to mount.

What blasts me is that a Pulsa-Jet carb is about $100 to replace while
a Honda float carb (which is a superior carb) can be had for $35.
