Pump Start Relay

    WHAT KIND OF WIRE AND HOW DO YOU INSTALL
    A PUMP START RELAY TO A LAKE PUMP.
    ANYTHING WOULD HELP

    Most likely regular 18 awg irrigation control wire can acticate the coil on the relay as long as your controller puts out 24VAC for the pump control. You'll need a separate circuit breaker for the pump sized appropriately for the load. Additionally the high voltage wire from the electrical panel to the pump will have to be sized to meet the load and the distance the pump is from the panel. Hunter pump start relays include instructions as how to wire.

    If you are not experienced with high voltage electrical work get a professional and simply supply them with the relay. There are also National electrical codes to follow. Public safety as well as your own are paramount in addition to building a reliable project.
