    Hi,
Seems to be some concern lately on ls.com about the PF engine. Here is the Teardown article on the TBC-260PF from PET magazine.

The PF's have been around for 10 years so NO need to be concerned. BTW - The THT hedge trimmers are going away after this year so stock up if you feel the need.

I am going to buy a hedge trimmer very soon. Tanaka HTD-2530 is one of the three possible choice. 1) Maruyama HT2321, 2) HTD-2530, 3) Shindaiwa M242 with short reach articulate hedge trimmer.

Can you tell me how is the blade of Tanaka compare to the others? You think the engine will last as long as the other two?

    Thanks

    Hi,
The chrome plated blades are more of a sales feature than anything else. The chrome will come off after the first time you sharpen them. All three engines are premium quality commercial grade engines. You can't go wrong with any of those 3 choices.
