    Hi,
Seems to be some concern lately on ls.com about the PF engine. Here is the Teardown article on the TBC-260PF from PET magazine.

The PF's have been around for 10 years so NO need to be concerned. BTW - The THT hedge trimmers are going away after this year so stock up if you feel the need.

Is this the same engine used in HTD-2530?
I don't think people are concern with Tanaka alone. We are concern with ALL newer engines because of the emmision stuff!!! I myself have been going back and forth trying to second guess which brand to buy mainly because of that. I don't want to get stuck with one that have to rev up for a while before it is ready or treat starting an engine as an exercise!!
Does this have cold nature like the new Redmax Strato or Echo engines that need warmup and hard to start?

    Hi,
No, it is not the same PF engine. And no cold nature like the Redmax Strato or Echo. The PF uses a scavenging system in the cylinder / crankcase and a catalyst.
