Push mower meets Stump. now wont start

    hey guys! first post . ive been reading for a while and i have to say that this site is awesome.
    got a quick question for you guys. this weekend, i was mowing a new yard, grass kinda tall, and i ran right over a stump. i bent my blade pretty bad, but i didnt bend the shaft. so i replaced the blade and now my mower wont start. any suggestions?

    Change or replace the flywheel key. It will, or should start after this. If you pull the rope is it hard to pull? If so, change that key.

    no its not hard to pull. compression feels the same as well.

    Your flywheel key is sheared. That is what it is ment to do when you hit something. If it did not the crankshaft could break instead. DO NOT use a steel key to replace it with because if you do the next time you find a stump the crank may be what fails.

    thanks for the replies guys. one of my buddies said something about a sheared key, but i wasnt sure what he was talking about. thanks again.:D
