For North East (Buffalo) region, a mixture of RyeGrass, Kentucky Blue Grass (KBG) and fescue is recommeneded...

I recently worked on a new lawn that I seeded with Perennial RyeGrass & KBG only. The owner wanted grass type that won't agressively grow during summers (he has time to cut once every 10-14 days), so I purposely did not use Fescue because (correct me if I'm wrong) it grows quickly and requires more frequent mowing than Rye and KBG. I don't know if I'm confusing tall fescue with other types of fescue grass that have steady growth as KBG and Rye...

Is there any dis-advantage for not using Fescue? While steady growth is important, I also want to make sure that the lawn will be disease & drought tolerant and don't want to miss out on any benefits of Fescue.

    Thanks!
