    I recently purchased a Ferris HydroWalk SD 48" W/B from a friend's neighbor.

What type of Hydro Fluid do you use on your Ferris WB's?

Also do you know how much oil to put into the mower and do you have any recommendations on real or synthetic oils for Ferris mowers?

This is my first experience with a hydro mower so any maintenance advice you have is greatly appreciated.

Check with your Ferris dealer but my 1500z book says to use Mobil 1 15W-50 or Castrol Sntec 5W-50 for hydraulic. For my engine Kawasaki book says to use SAE 40 for my temp zone I am in and not to use multi weight oil.

The Ferris web page may also have the online man for that mower?

I had a ferris hydrowalk SD. There is a sticker next to the white cup where you put the fluid in. The sticker states what grade of oil to use. I can't remember what the grade is. But you just need mobil 1 full synthetic oil.

It depends on which tranaxle is in it. The Sauer-Sundstrand transaxle in my old SD took New Holland #134 Hydraulic fluid or equivilent. The Hydrogear transaxle in my new SD takes 20w50.
