I have 2003 toro 36" wb. My question is, are the spindles supposed to be greased? Or are they maintenance free? I am asking because when I first start the maching and try to engage the blades, the mower will die. I have to do this 2 or 3 times then it runs fine. It only has 46 hours on it and it never did it last year.

I have a 52'' deck and the bearngs are the sealed type in it, no greasing. Look on top of the spindle or the bottom for a grease zerk though. And it takes a while for the engine to warm up enuff not to bogg down when you engage the blades. Try to choke the engine some as you start the blades when the engine is cold see if that helps
