I am picking up my new Grasshopper 727 in the morning.:cool2: A buddy of mine has a Dixie Chopper and swears by the x blades. He says that it makes a much cleaner cut.

Has anyone ever run x blades on a grasshopper? What are the best blades for this time of year? I want to keep a couple of extra sets to change out.

I have used them on my Grasshoppers, but only in dry weather and on southern-type grasses. I used two medium lift blades on each spindle. You will need to buy longer blade bolts if you do this. Buy them 1/4" longer than the standard blade bolt. Engage PTO with throttle at low idle. Disengage PTO with throttle at low idle also.
