I was thinking of buying a shred-n-vac for light small cleanup, such as along sidewalks and driveways after edging, or any places where blowing grass will simply blow it into another spot I don't want it.

How well do these things handle dirt and debris? I'm not talking sucking up tons of dirt, but after edging the usual amount of dirt along with the grass.

I bought and echo last year and it was the biggest waste of money ever. I mainly wanted it to suck leave and debris out of plants and beds before mulching. Well it gets cloged up every 3 min. and would never have enough power to suck up dirt. Dont waste your money get out a shovel its prob faster.

I have the bigger Echo Shred-N-Vac and it works great for such applications.

However, I would VERY STRONGLY suggest you get the Stihl 85 (SH85 I think).

The 85's are 2-3 times the Blower that the Echo is in blower mode and on the Stihl EVERYTHING to do with the VAC system is just so much BETTER DESIGNED.

The vac tubes are a PITA on the Echo.
