So I tried double blades on this one lawn today. Gators on top of High lifts. The question is would I ruin my clutch if I only run doubles one day a week for about 3 hours? They really made the day easier, and but I don't want to ruin my mower, which is a Scag 36 if it makes any difference.

    Thanks

Time spent running doubles doesnt matter its the engagement that takes its toll on your clutch.

I bought my equipment to use, if it wears on that equipment to do my work efficiently, that is a cost of doing business. In 15 years in this biz, I've NEVER had a clutch go out on a mower. If it did happen I'd just replace it, no big deal. What does the clutch cost for a scag 36? a couple hundred.
