I have used the search feature and didn't really find anything of note. I'm trying to convert tons of sand into yards of sand. Does anyone know what the formula is for say 1 ton = _ yard. I found somewhere on the net that 1 ton= 1.3 yards but it showed no formula so I was wondering if anyone knew. TIA for any help!

A dry yard of Washed Sand weighs approximately 1.3 tons. We pretty much rely on this, and it works out pretty well when tested too. We get loaded, and roughly know the yardage, then weigh out on a certified scale. The tons to yards has proven to be pretty consistent at 1.3 tons to 1 yard.
