I have a business that wants me to give a estimate on putting down mulch in the flower bed and tree beds. I figured up about 6 cubic yards of mulch @ $70.00 per yard with equals $420.00. Is this a good calculation. Also what is the best kind of mulch. I am in Central Texas. Please bare with me I am a newbie when it comes to mulch.

Well, I'm not sure what is around Lampasas as far as suppliers. I use Native Texas Hardwood from Austin Wood Recycling if bagged is necessary. You can buy a pallet for a little over $1/bag; otherwise, The Natural Gardener in Austin has the best stuff around. Might be pricey getting 7 yards up to Lampasas though.

Oh, and price......Don't price it until you find your supply. You might eat the job if you underbid.
