Anyone using these out there? Some interesting concepts:

Knock-outs built into all four sides.

Corrugated sides for greater strength before AND after knock-outs are removed.

Bolt-hole knock-out – keeps critters out when bolt is not used.

Shovel access slot for easy removal of lid.

Knock-out retainers hold removed knock-outs in place during backfill.

Interlocking feature locks two boxes together when fitted bottom-to-bottom for deep installations.

Beveled lid edges prevent damage from lawn equipment.

Not sure. I see in their online catalog they carry Carson valve boxes (no Rainbird boxes noted) but you know how accurate online information can be.

We've been using Rain Bird valve boxes for over a year. The knockouts can be useful but we usually still need the sawzall because the knock outs are not always exactly where you need them. The standard & 10" valve boxes are great - the 6" RB valve box is rather flimsy & I prefer not to use them. If my supplier has other color lids (asside from green ), I haven't seen them. I think that would be great for beds.

I know that purple is the color for reclaimed water, perhaps the other colors are code for something as well?

We use Carson boxes mostly, but I've gotten a few fliers about the rainbird box, I guess if it was as cheap as a carson box we could consider it, but it only take s a few seconds to notch out carson with a PVC saw.
