I have a Grasshopper with a Kohler Command 20 hp twin. I was looking at the engine manual, which covers several Command models.

Noticed that for the 18, 20, and 22 hp. models, the bore, stroke, and compression ratio are identical. So I got to wondering what is the difference, and all I can think of is, larger carburetors.

So does anyone know, could I just buy a 22 hp. carb and bolt it on my 20, and get 22 hp out of it?

I have heard stories of doing that but I would also check the cam part numbers and see if they are the same for the 2 engines.
