Ram 6.7 Power

    I've been impressed with how my 2009 Ram 3500 with my new Suncoast M3GA Jr. trans, converter, billet input shaft, billet flex plate, and custom TCM software has done. I've towed as much as 33,000 pounds so far.

    I'm DPF deleted, head studded with ARP 625's, fueled by AirDog, and pumped up by Smarty to about 480-500 HP and 925-950 ft. lbs. of torque. I was running a higher HP tune but I turned it back a notch.

    I've also been impressed with my PJ dump trailer. It's rated for grossing 25K but I've been hauling 28-33K with it. The electric over hydraulic disc brake upgrade I did for $3900 was money well spent. Even at 33K the brakes will jerk the truck to a stop with ease.

    The truck has Pacbrake airbags on the back that keep the load level. I run 100 psi in my airbags. Next I would like to get the Snow Performance Millage Max and run water/meth like I did in my last truck.

    The 13.75 yard load in the picture is 59 lbs. a cubic foot and weighs 21,900 coupled with the 9000 pound trailer I'm at a little over 31K with my top dressing machine.

    I really need to ditch the cast wheels and get some forged units as well.

    do yall not have DOT in texas? I would get a very nice fine.

    I have USDOT numbers on my truck and have to do drug testing.

    I would not pull even 20K if my trailer still had the electric brakes it came with. The electric over hydraulic disc brakes on the trailer now are super powerful. You have to be careful to turn down the controller as you lighten the load or you will lock up all eight tires. It's painful to see $1400 worth of tires lock up with smoke coming off them.

    I don't drive down the interstate where the weight stations are. The truck/trailer handle the load just fine and it sits perfectly level so it draws no attention. Those 10K axles are very strong.

    It's usually the guys with single or twin 3.5K axles that draw attention with their over loaded trailer where the tires are leaning in because they have bent their weak axles. I just saw a guy the other day trying to haul a pile of soil on a single axle trailer and he had lost a tire.

    Guy that use to deliver me top soil had an old mack that despite its ability's was rated lower by state law. So one day he was to bring me 10 yards of top soil but he was really late. The job before he moved 10 yards of unscreened fill and got caught 7000 pounds over weight and got a $3500 ticket. You said the trailer was rated for 25000 pounds so 31000 would make you 6000 over. You ever get inspected like that it could be a bad day. But still that is impressive that a ram can haul that much.

    It looks like in Texas the fine for being 5K-10K over is $300-$500. Once you hit 10K the fine can go to $1000. I bet the guy who had that ticket had past violations that compounded the ticket.
